The Ruby Jubilee of the Diocese of Kumbo is worth the celebration; let’s join in the dance. The TOGETHER EP by Nsay ki la is out to animate, reflect upon, express thanksgiving, and pray with and for the Church that is in Kumbo. The Diocese was created in 1982.
TOGETHER EP is a 6-track project containing Njang and Afrobeats with fusions of Amapiano. In it’s very conception, there are songs to pray with, and there are songs to dance to. In this way, everyone can find their choice to use for the celebration. The project takes it’s name from the first word of the theme of the Ruby Jubilee of the Diocese of Kumbo “Together on Mission: Go out the whole world proclaiming the Gospel to all creation (Mark 16:15)”.
The JUBILEE PRAYER track is based on the actual prayer that has been said during the celebrative year of the jubilee. It has special softness, and the natural flair of the xylophones gives it an important place among lovers of soft traditional music. So too is the performance of BEHOLD WE THE SPLENDOUR, simple and sweet.
Away from the prayerful songs, the songs CELEBRATE and MKWEE invites you to your feet. It’s a celebration, so you ought to move your body. These Afrobeats tunes can’t leave you indifferent. The latter is in English and Lamnso. The former is just a sensation because it pulls together several languages: English, as well Lamnso’, Limbum, Noni, and Oku which are the main languages spoken within the Diocese of Kumbo.
The producers on the project include Marc Eff of Kovapot, Dijay Kay, Produced by Lu, and Nsay ki la himself. Two of the tracks feature The Virtual Chorale, beautiful voices you should be familiar with if you have listened to the works of Nsay ki la.
This EP titled “TOGETHER” does not only mark the celebration of the Ruby Jubilee of the Diocese of Kumbo. You will often find yourself coming back to it in the future, because the songs are eternal. They are songs that ought to remain in your playlists.
