The composer of this song is unknown. It was originally being sung in a single voice, according Paa Aloysius Fonkeng (one of the vetaran church musicians in English Cameroon). It had already been included in the first ever Cameroon Hymnal. It is found in the current Hymnal as No.125 and under the section for Exit and Thanksgiving. It is, however, suitable for Easter, and is actually the Responsorial Psalm for Easter Sunday.

What Nsay ki la did was rearrange from a single voice into a four voice song. This gives it new life and movement. This recording also helps to preserve the song, while making it available online for those who love Cameroonian religious music. The Virtual Chorale did this performance. It was mixed and digitally mastered by Dijay Kay.
