The Canticle of Zechariah appears in Luke 1:67-79. Zechariah had been praying for a child. But when the angel announced to him that he would have one, he doubted. For this, he lost his speech. He only regained it after the child was born and he had given the child the name the angel had given. This song is the words that came out of his mouth in praise of God. It is, therefore, an outburst of joy, praise and thanksgiving.

The song is soft, and makes use of the text without many changes. It is written in a manner to be suitable for liturgical use. The percussion is light, to give expression to words and voices. This Canticle appears every morning for the Divine Office, to show what place it holds in the Catholic Liturgy of the Hours.

Nsay ki la composed it in 2012. He, however, only produced it in 2020. It was mixed and digitally mastered by Dijay Kay.
